Simple terms of use for SUBSTANCE. This version takes effect on 8 August 2026.
What you are buying
The Pro license is personal, lifetime and is not a subscription. It unlocks the Pro features of SUBSTANCE for musical, studio, educational and commercial use in your own productions.
Computers and activation
One license can stay active on up to two computers you own or control. If you change machines, support can reset an activation once the purchase is verified.
What is not allowed
- Sharing, reselling, renting, sublicensing or publishing the license key.
- Removing activation mechanisms or trying to bypass software limitations.
- Distributing copies of the plugin, the installer or its assets as if they were your own product.
Updates and compatibility
The launch license includes 1.x series updates. New products, future major versions or formats not yet released may have their own rules. Linux VST3 and Standalone are available; Windows and macOS follow the announced roadmap.
Free and Pro
SUBSTANCE Free stays usable after the 15 day trial. The Pro license enables the features listed on the pricing page, including Hybrid, Advanced/DNA, user presets and full modules.
